May is NF Awareness and Action Month

This May, NF Midwest, and other NF organizations are coming together to turn awareness into action.

We’re turning up the volume on NF Awareness Month. This year, many of us are calling it NF Action Month. Why? Because awareness opens eyes, action changes lives!

All month long, we’re asking the community to share NFACTS (a play on NF facts and NF acts) to educate, inspire, and move people to do something.

Whether you’re living with NF, loving someone who is, or standing with us in solidarity, there’s a lot you can do this May to make noise and make change.

Here’s how you can drop some NFACTS:

Tell your story. Share your own NF journey, or amplify someone else’s (with permission). Post it on social media or send it to us. Your story might be the one that finally makes someone listen.

Show it off. Wear your NF gear (or blue and green) loud and proud, especially out in public. Be a walking conversation starter.

Fundraise. A quick one on Facebook or our Classy platform, or a big creative effort. Either way, it helps move the needle. Let us know how we can help.

Get a proclamation. Ask your local officials to declare May as NF Awareness Month, May 17 as NF Awareness Day, or May 22 as NF2-SWN Awareness Day. You’d be surprised how often they say yes.

Light it blue and green. Got color-changing lights? Flip them to NF colors. Ask businesses, neighbors, loved ones, and schools to do the same.

Share NF facts. Educate people. One fact at a time. Online, in person, wherever you can.

If you have other ideas, please share them with us. We’re in this together — and together, we can make May impossible to ignore.
