Helping Your Child with NF Thrive at School

Back-to-school season brings new routines, new teachers, and sometimes new challenges for families living with neurofibromatosis (NF).

That’s why we’re sharing a valuable resource created by our partners at the Children’s Tumor Foundation. The NF Parent Guidebook: How to Help Children with Learning Challenges Associated with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 is a free, 160-page guide designed to help families support their children at home, in school, and beyond.

Created by NF experts and educators, the guidebook includes strategies, tips, and tools to help you understand and support your child’s learning, behavioral, and social needs. Whether you’re preparing for school meetings, creating routines at home, or navigating friendships and self-esteem, this guide is a practical companion for NF families.

You can download the NF Parent Guidebook at: www.ctf.org/nf-parent-guidebook

It is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Mandarin.

We are grateful to the Children’s Tumor Foundation for providing this resource and proud to share it with our NF Midwest community.
