At this NF Power Hour, Dr. Angela Hirbe, a medical oncologist who treats adults with NF at Washington University in St. Louis will discuss plexiform tumors with a focus on adults with NF. This session will introduce plexiform neurofibromas in Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), explaining what PNs are in clear, accessible language and imagery. The webinar will discuss how these tumors are managed, including current and emerging treatment options, as well as the complications they may cause, such as pain, disfigurement, and potential for malignant transformation. The importance of multidisciplinary care and ongoing monitoring to improve quality of life for those affected will also be addressed.
