What is LIHEAP?

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federal program that helps low-income households pay for heating and cooling. The program can provide assistance with energy bills, help in an energy crisis, and in some cases, offer weatherization and energy-related home repairs.

How to Find Help in Your State

The LIHEAP Clearinghouse has a search tool to help you find the office that serves your area. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Click the button below to go to the LIHEAP search tool.
  2. Use the dropdown menu on their website to select your state (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, or Wisconsin).
  3. The website will provide you with the contact information and application details for your local LIHEAP office.

Please note that NF Midwest provides this information as a helpful resource, but we are not affiliated with the LIHEAP program and do not handle applications. For more helpful resources, be sure to visit our Resource Library.
