Public, military, and private sector employees can often donate to NF Midwest through their company’s payroll deduction plan. Carefully review your pledge card to determine whether you can designate (or “write in”) NF Midwest. NF Midwest’s nonprofit ID number is 22-2580173.

If you, or someone you know, works for the military or federal government they can designate payroll deductions to NF Midwest. Our CFC number is 75126.

Make a gift from your DAF to NF Midwest

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a simple, tax-smart way to support NF Midwest. If you already have a DAF, you can recommend a grant today in just a few clicks.

When you remember NF Midwest in your estate plans, you are providing  NF Midwest the power to continue its work in years to come. If you’ve set up a plan to benefit NF Midwest, neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis please let us know if you want us to recognize you in our Legacy Society.

There can be tax advantages to donating stocks, bonds and other securities to NF Midwest. Donors may be able to deduct the fair market value of long-term appreciated stock and receive the benefit of avoiding capital gains tax on the sale of the security. Contact for more information on how to donate this way.

Another option is a transfer on death (TOD) account. By placing a TOD designation on your brokerage or investment account, that account will be paid over to one or more persons or charities after your lifetime. State laws govern payable on death accounts. Please consult with your bank representative or investment advisor if you are considering this gift.

Please let NF Midwest know that a gift is being transferred, as donated stock that arrives in our account without identification may delay issuance of a tax-deductible receipt. In your email alert to , please include the donor name, the name, ticker symbol, and number of shares of the stock being donated, the mailing address of the donor for issuance of the tax receipt, the purpose of the gift, and any other instructions or information you’d like us to know.

If you are over age 70½ you may make a transfer for up to $100,000 per year to from your traditional or Roth IRA or 401(K) to support the mission of NF Midwest and other qualified charities. You may fulfill part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD) through a qualified charitable distribution or QCD. For more information on making contribution this way, please talk to your tax or financial advisor. 

Let your imagination run free to come up with ways to raise funds and awareness for the NF cause. You can do something simple like set-up a Tribute page, page(s) celebrating milestones like birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings, or you might want to create a fun in-person event. Whatever you decide – or if you can’t decide – we’re here to help. We recommend that you think about what you like and who you know to start.

NF Midwest encourages in-kind donations that meet specific needs identified to further our mission. For example, if your company wishes to donate a food product for participants to enjoy at one of our events, we would love it and love you! We are also always in need of items for raffle.

Other examples of gifts in kind would be contributing graphic design or print services to an event; offering your place of business to host an event or donating needed equipment.
