iNFo Fair 2018: Job Discrimination and Employee Rights

We’re excited to tell you about another one of our presenters for our October 20th NF Midwest Symposium and iNFo Fair.  (To see the line-up so far go to www.nfmidwest.org/symposium.)

Hannah Walsh, a staff attorney with Equip for Equality’s Employment Rights Helpline will be sharing information on the rights of employees with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal and state laws. Topics will include requesting reasonable accommodations, disclosing your disability, and the right to be free from discrimination. Hannah will explain how the ADA covers a broad range of people, even those who may not identify as a person with a disability and give advice on finding a job if you an individual with a disability.

Even if you don’t feel like you have a disability, or you have young children and are not concerned with these issues, we strongly encourage everyone to attend. We all need to be armed with knowledge in order to be prepared for what the future might bring and to be able to share this knowledge with our community in order to support each other and increase awareness.
