
The Child Neurodevelopment Lab at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Department of Psychology (Drs.
Tonsgard and Hunter) and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Neurofibromatosis Clinic (Drs. Bick and Rhead)
to learn about the cognitive, learning, and behavioral functioning of young children with Neurofibromatosis-
1. They are looking at the functioning of 3- through 6-year-olds with NF-1 as well as their siblings without
NF-1. First language must be English. Participation takes up to 4 hours. The researcher will play games with
the child to look at reasoning, expressive and receptive language abilities, patience, and reactions to mild
behavior, emotions, temperament, and attention and are interviewed about their child’s behavior and daily
functioning. The research takes place at the Child Neurodevelopment Research Lab at the University of
Wisconsin – Milwaukee, in Milwaukee, WI or at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL.
