42 Years of Care and Ensuring No One Fights Alone!

Neurofibromatosis Inspirational Day!

Check out the photos and the wonderful video of a speech from two inspirational families.

We just finished the popular neurofibromatosis walk, Great Steps 4NF, in Naperville, IL on June 1. This is a hugely attended, inspirational walk/rally for the NF cause in the Chicago suburbs. Families honor their loved ones and we all come together for the cause and celebrate the funds we have raised for neurofibromatosis in the months before.

There are so many people to thank for this unbelievable event. First, we really must have been on Mother Nature’s good side as we managed to avoid storms that came both before and after the event. Our development director, Jenny Perkins, did a good part of the work and coordinating and did a fantastic job. Our food coordinator, Lesli Wegner, arranged for a lot of food and had us stuffed. The actual walk was filled with stations of goodies manned by enthusiastic volunteers thanks to Joan Pilkinton and check-in was seamless and effortless thanks to our assistant, Liz. We had a our always fun DJ Jason keeping us entertained and listed to a great rendition of the national anthem by Kimberlee Burhans. This year we were also blessed with a talented photographer, Christina Michelle, who donated her time and has opened the gallery of photos for everyone to download and share. We also had many other volunteers that create a list that is very long, but we love and appreciate everyone of them.

This is truly a huge, fun and important endeavor. If you’d like to help with the planning of next year’s event, please let us know now.
