Suggestions for Successful Teams
The following are some ideas to make your team more successful.
• Set a Goal
• Create a Team Site – Go to www.firstgiving.com/nf to create your team’s website.
Members on your team may use your team site or may prefer to build their own. If they build
there own be sure that it is connected to your team.
• Build your Team – Ask friends, family and co-workers to join you. If you, or someone you
know, is affected with Neurofibromatosis, give them your story for their fund-raising letter.
• Motivate your Team - Encourage team members start fund-raising started early.
Consider creating challenges with prizes such as the first to raise $200 or whoever raises
the most.
• Include Your Work – Be sure that everyone on your team lets their place of employment
know that they are participating in a wonderful cause. The company may want to contribute
and may offer matching funds. Get matching funds in as early as possible to ensure that
they are received before the event so that they can be counted towards your team’s totals.
• Encourage FUNd-Raising Events - Create team fund-raising events or encourage team
members to do some on their own. Check out our Fund-Raising Brainstorm for ideas.
• Update Us - Contact the NF, Inc. Midwest office to get additional fund-raising ideas, to let
us know how it’s going, and/or to share any wonderful ideas.
• Matching Gifts - Utilize your company's matching gifts program (if applicable). Ask your
team members if their companies also match charitable donations.
